Earlswood Barn Conversion

The original barn was used as a tractor shed and planning permission was obtained to convert the building to a home for the clients with a central atria kitchen and open plan living space with bedrooms arranged around the atria and reception rooms at ground floor.

The scheme was subsequently amended at planning so as to enhance the original design by including 'birds beak' extending gable roofs with supporting structural framed balconies, so as to enhance the design in a contemporary style, reinterpreting the existing aesthetic and adding style as well as value to the home. The front entrance to the building created a two storey high atria staircase leading off a half landing so as to add drama and quality to the spaces within the building.
