Good Hope Hospital
Highbury Design were appointed in 2008 to create a new healthcare facility extending the A&E with new Starkstrom pendant ITU and HDU unit, coronary care unit and elderly ward with individual patient rooms.
With over 20 years’ experience of working with the Trust on every facet of the organisation, the work from concept to handover leading the design team, involved relocating the restaurant and medical records building, as well as creating a bridge link to the rest of the hospital and new ambulance turning circle. Incorporating new sound attenuation techniques and the latest thinking on touch down points and isolation procedures, with over 500 pages of individual room data sheets and room layout drawing details, the scheme has won a number of awards and been featured in the RIBA regional awards year book.
