MRI & X-ray Department
Gloucestershire Hospitals
Following working nearly 10 years for the Trust, Gary Phillips undertook the installation of new MRI scanners at Cheltenham Hospital with a new infill building within a 4 storey high courtyard, along with a new extension to the x-ray department at Gloucester Hospital. Working with the scanner manufacturers and specialist Faraday cage installers for shielding, the schemes were project managed to ensure the smooth delivery of 5 tonne magnets to each building which had to be craned into position on the one site over the 4 storey building with a removable rooflight to the one building, with an accessway formed to the other scheme.
