Askham Grange Mother & Baby Centre
HM Prison Service

Following a successful period working for HM Prison Service (National Offender Management Service) on schemes up to the value of £43million, Gary Phillips combined knowledge of the healthcare and prison sectors to create a mother and baby centre in the grounds of Askham Grange where offenders could take their children into the facility up to the age of four.

Working closely with the Home Office and a number of influential charities working in the specialist sector, the scheme was recognised as the first BRE ECO Homes prison building in the country with an excellent rating and was featured in the HM Prison Service Year Book, being completed ahead of time and on budget.
